#WIPWednesday

Well, well, well.... (that's three holes in the ground). It's been an interesting week thus far. My commute sucks and I'm kind of over it but I'm trudging on. BUUUT, that's not the reason for this post!

PROJECTS!!
Wow...I have a TON of shit going on. No, really. I have had a bit of "startitis" in the past couple of weeks and although I started and completed a mini-shawl in one weekend, it's not really helping the other 6 projects that I have going. AND I nearly started another one last night! Dear Jessus...

Really though, I feel like I've at least been productive:

Self-designed Mini-shawl

Vic's "Bajan Pride" Hat

Irish Sunshine Scarf

ALL of these were completed in the past week! I'm pretty stoked about that. AND, tonight I'm going to the knit night in Worcester so I get so see all my gal pals...so excited!! I just hope that loser with the guitar isn't there. Otherwise I'm going to have to cut out early. Some how he thinks that moaning into a mic for two hours is "music". Uh..no.

Wow, I forgot!!

Hey Y'all. In my speedy-ness to make ALL THE THINGS, I totally forgot to show you Vic's hat!! It's kinda neat and I'm stoked that I basically made it up while I was going. Here's the final product. Note: it is still missing ONE of the tridents on the back. I will need to get that done soon...

The inspiration for this hat? Why it's the Bajan flag of course!

Pretty neat, huh?! He loves it, it's very warm as it's all acrylic, but the granny squares on the sides allow for venting of air. He wore it to work today so I'm waiting to hear if he got any comments on it...LOL

#WIPWednesday and other tales!

Another Wednesday!! This one though, I'm working late and it's a bear...but it's a once in a while thing so I can deal.

In knitting news, I've gone CRAZY for projects. My Ravelry queue is down to about 10 items but I have at least 6 in progress and I get new ideas everyday.  My next one is to start a tiny shawl for myself since I have one from a swap that I adore. I've also started Vic's Bajan hat - seen here in pieces:

I've also been designing fun things for my Etsy shop (kobuu.etsy.com) and have come up with some pretty interesting concepts that will show themselves gradually over time. The first one was completed just yesterday and listed promptly. You can see it here:

This one was really kind of fun and I just did it off the top of my head. I love the little I-Cord touches that make it really...well, weird! I just love the idea of being completely and utterly free with my designs. And if no one buys it, well then I'll have a fabulous scarf to wear this summer! LOL

Oh...this is the scarf(lette?) that I was talking about earlier that I'm going to model my next mini-shawl off of:

I have some really funky sock yarn on its way so I'm thinking that with it's variety of colours, one skein and some needles, I'll make something that's close to this. Oh and I have to give a shout out to a couple of my G+ followers who gave some really great shawl starting tips. I just can't link them in Blogger yet cuz Google is busy fighting off the dogs of Apple. Grr....

Okies, that's all for now chickies and gents!

WIP Wednesday

Well after much debate, I have decided to continue on the square path and make the tablecloth I originally planned on. Square number one is nearly done and it's pretty freakin' big! I really only think I'll have to make a dozen of these or so.

#herringbonecowl is coming along. It's been a crazy couple of days so the portability of the crochet versus the cowl has made it difficult to work on.

My jacket is still half-edged and sitting in a crate on the floor of the living room. Still going on that, just taking my time. Once the edging is done, it's only sleeves left!

Clapotis has basically been forgotten but is still wanting to get done! Will probably touch that this weekend.

If you've been following me, I've listed another shawl on my Etsy page. I'm really trying to make this work for me but it's giving me a lot of anxiety. Don't want to charge too much, want to make sure the quality is there, trying not to stress about it. These are all exactly the reasons that I don't sell more stuff. It's just too hard for me. I like making stuff and just giving it to the person that likes it the most. I don't need money for it especially if I used acrylic. Maybe I'll feel differently once I have no more acrylic to use, but for now, I don't really care.

Today's project, if I get away from my desk at all, will be my cowl. I really should get some more rounds done...

Project Update: Cardiff Coat

And yes, Whovians, that really is its name. It's in the magazine!

I learned how to do the I-Cord bind off and have been moving steadily along getting that done. I tried the coat on after just doing the bottom edge and it was huge! After getting one side done, it's tightened up considerably. The collar is my next task as I did follow directions but it came out, well, oversized. Here's me wearing the jacket as it stands right now. I have a long way to go but the end is in sight!!

More as it happens!!

#WIPWednesday

Wow..what a day. Haven't really had any time to myself so no blogging yet. Thankfully I'm on lunch now so I get a moment for myself!

Finished my second Block of the Month square for Feb! Here's both squares:

Very bright colours this month. I'm going to try to keep each pair the same colours so that I can remember which square are "together". I don't actually care, though. This is just a way for me to use up my acrylic stash and make a swanky blanket for Vic.

Progress on my Clapotis has pretty much come to a stand still. I have the Herringbone cowl with me all this week and that's my goal: to get more done!

Then there's my jacket, which are like Yonit's socks, perpetually unfinished. Some day, though, dammit! I did pick up another skein of the tan that I need so I know that I can get the sleeves done. Just need to start them! Still need to bind off the bottom edge too. Yes...I know...

Then there's Vic's tie which has only just barely been started. And I found a half-completed tri-shawl that should probably take me 5min to complete if I just sat down and did it. LOL. OH, but I did make the Shroom hat which can be seen here:

and the pattern can be found here: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/shroom-2.

If any crocheters are into Blocks of the Month, you should check out the Ravelry group here:

Ok, that's it for now!

#WIPWednesday

Good morning Pleeps!!

Thus begins the February KAL: Herringbone Cowl!!

I've cast on (200sts) and completed round one. Round two is VERY tricky but it's doable. It took me a couple times reading the instructions, watched my needles and stitches very carefully. Here's what I've gotten so far:

The hardest part of round two is that each stitch has two parts: the twist and then the knit. I will tell you that with 200sts, it's like knitting 400sts since you have to work them "twice". Makes for tedious knitting. BUT, I think that a month's time will definitely be enough to get this done so long as I'm diligent on working on it. That's what I'm counting on from all of you in the KAL!! LOL!

In other news, and I might be jinxing this, but Torchwood is still on Netflix!! Which means that I can continue to watch episodes.  I'm nearly done the first season but I'm not logging out of the PS3 until I know that if I log back in, those episodes will still be there! LOL

Ok, I need to get to work. Knitting later today! Anyone with questions on the pattern can certainly hit me up on G+ or twitter: twitter.com/kobuu
